From Plans to Action

We believe that people should be able to see what their support helps make possible. FORWARD is beginning with a small pilot, and we will use this page to document the journey as it develops. We won't only share the finished results. We will also share what happens along the way — what we learn, what changes, what works, and what doesn't.

Our First Step

Nuwara Eliya 

Child Nutrition Pilot

Target: 50 children

Our first pilot is being developed to provide monthly nutritional support to 50 children under five in Nuwara Eliya.

Target cost: LKR 5,000 per child per month

The pilot will help us understand how the programme works in practice before we develop it into a regular monthly programme.

What We Will Share

As the programme progresses, we intend to share information such as:

• Number of children supported

• Nutrition packages provided

• Programme costs

• Resources received

• Volunteer involvement

• Lessons from the pilot

• Changes we make based on what we learn

Where appropriate, we will also share photographs and stories from the work while respecting the privacy and dignity of the children and families involved.

Supporting children and preparing for the next phase

We provided support to 27 children in Nuwara Eliya as part of our initial effort to help families in need. This experience has helped us take the next steps towards building a more consistent nutrition support programme for young children.

We are now working to secure the funds needed for October and November, with the hope of reaching our first target of supporting 50 children.

Next milestone: Secure funding and reach our first target of 50 children.

Why We Document the Work

We don't want FORWARD to simply say that we are helping people. We want to be able to show what we actually did. A small project that is honestly documented can teach us more than a large promise that never becomes reality. As FORWARD grows, this page will grow with it. One project. One lesson. One step at a time.
